2. Deerbrook by Harriet Martineau
3. Passage to India by E.M. Forster
4. At Home With Kate by Eileen Considine-Meara
5. The English Reader: What Every Literate Person Needs to Know by Michael Ravitch and Diane Ravitch.

Mind you, there was nothing wrong with any of those options, but I really am working hard to finish reading these five:

1. The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins
2. Swing by Rupert Holmes
3. What Angels Fear by C.S. Harris (oooh, Didi, look - she has a blog!)
   
4. Glorious Battle: The Cultural Politics of Victorian Anglo-Catholicism by John Shelton Reed
   
5. The Things that Matter by Edward Mendelson
   

Just so you know I'm fairly focused at the moment...
